This past weekend, my family went to the Iowa State Fair to award the Quercus Landscapes 4H Scholarship. Iowa 4H was a big part of my life growing up - raising animals, learning about horticulture, gaining a respect for our environment. Quercus gives back a little by awarding a scholarship for a 4Her attending college in an Iowa or Minnesota Horticulture or Landscape Architecture program. I really like doing it and this is our third year of awarding the scholarship.

This year’s recipient is Brett Seelman of North Liberty, Iowa who is attending Iowa State University.
